How to easily enter safe mode in windows 8

May 26, 2013 Leave a comment

windows-8-logoOne of the comments I received this week was

“How do I get to safe mode in windows 8 ?”

Now I have yet to enter safe mode on my test Win 8 virtual machine but I decided to investigate the problem to save people some time in future.

After a quick google search and testing with my Win 8 virtual machine the best way I found was proved by Microsoft themselves and can be found at the following link

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2809468

Which will show you how to add a safemode to the bootmgr which lets you gain access to the windows 8 safe mode.

Using AppAware to find software on Google Play

May 5, 2013 Leave a comment

This week blog update is about a little android application that I have been playing with on my test nexus 7 and has proved quite useful in suggesting other android applications I may want to use and displays applications that I would have never thought about using.

As you can guess from the logo on the right App Aware is the best alternative to the Android Market (Google Play Store) for finding the best new Android apps and games and it

AppAware suggests applications based on number of times downloaded by other people, applications that you have download or applications that your friends have downloaded.

You can install it on your android device by going to google play and searching for AppAware.
