Raspberry pi – Access the CLI on pi remotely with putty


*this method works with wheezy build but for squeeze builds you will need to enable the ssh services first*

How to enable ssh on raspberry pi

To be able to access the CLI (Command Line Interface on your pi remotely you will first need to install putty (a free to use telnet/ssh client) software on the system you are using to connect to your raspberry pi.

Putty can be downloaded from following location Download Link

(for windows you need to download putty.exe)

Double click on the putty.exe that you downloaded to start the Putty Configuration window

The host name or IP address box –  enter the IP address of your raspberry pi and leave the port as default and click open.

You may get Putty security Alert click yes

You should now see the Putty window asking for your login details – you will now have to put in the raspberry pi user name and password.

Once you entered the username and password you should now see the raspberry pi CLI (command line interface).
